Chief Executive Announcement December 2011

I’m pleased to share some important news with you this afternoon. As you know, over the last month, the Board of Trustees have been reviewing the responsibilities and requirements for the next layer of senior management within our charity – specifically the operations levels. That review is now done, and we’re now in a position to share with you a key change that is taking place at a senior level across our charity.
Mrs Glenis Harrison has been appointed as the first Chief Executive of the Firthmoor & District Community Association, completing our new Leadership Team.
Mrs Harrison has extensive knowledge of our charity and has a wealth of experience in childcare services. Mrs Harrison has been working as an Operations Manager at Firthmoor Community Centre for the last seven years.
Mrs Harrison will work closely with new charity Leadership Team, providing new direction, focusing and streamlining our resources. I’ve tasked Mrs Harrison with creating not just the best Community Centre in Darlington, but the most efficient and cost effect. Delivering for our community and our employees is something that I know Mrs Harrison is hugely passionate about.
Mrs Harrison begins her new role immediately, and one of her first tasks is the implementation of the board’s new strategic vision for Firthmoor & District Community Association.
I believe that having the right structure in place at all levels of our charity is an essential step forward in becoming the best Community Centre in Darlington. The new structure of our organisation is designed to help us become more efficient, cost effect, driven and focused. We need to be able to make quick decisions to ensure maximum impact for our community and our employees. I hope you will join with me in wishing Mrs. Harrison sucess both now and im the future.
