Chairman's Christmas Message 2011

The year is coming to a close, and what a year we've have had.

The Firthmoor & District Community Association has gone from strength the strength this year. As I approach my fourth year as Chairman, it is wonderful to look back at our achievements over the years. This year has been especially brilliant. I’m really pleased with our nursery, which received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted and I’m delighted we managed to achieve our sustainable energy vision by installing solar panel this year too.

The appointment of our first Chief Executive under pins our vision to become and orginisation cable of not just deriving key community services, but being delivery leaders of those services. I’m delighted that the Firthmoor & District Community Association has kept to it’s budgets, with the implementation of new fiscal policies and budgets in the next year, I’m sure we’ll be on track for yet another productive year.

I pleased to announce that next year we have some fantastic events planed to mark Queen’s the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, in addition to our usual community fun days, night out and trips away, 2012 is sure to be a year of fun and get-togethers .

I wanted to send my personal thanks to each and everyone involved in the great work going on in Firthmoor & District Community Association, the work still goes on and your individual contributions have really helped us achieve success.

You should feel really proud to be part of such a brilliant team.

On behalf of the trustees, I’m delighted to wish you and your family and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Once again, thank you for supporting Firthmoor’s efforts to become the best community centre in Darlington.

Best Wishes,

Kevin Nicholson

Chairman
